Vans have been making their "off the wall"
sneakers for 50 years as of March 16th this year and they've long been the
go-to shoe for skaters. Towards the end of the 1970s, Vans became super popular in Southern California. These shoes were
created for and praised by skaters and BMX riders for their durability and
comfort. Now, Vans has become a household name around the world synonymous with skate and surf culture. With their trademark side stripe and unmistakable waffle soles, theses shoes are for sure some of the most recognizable footwear of this century.
Pros & Cons
Pros: Vans makes really great quality shoes with remarkable design. These shoes can last a reaaly long time, but just like fine wine they look better with the years. Nothing fancy about these shoes, just simple designs made to tackle everyday life.
Cons: Sometimes if you get the ones with a thin sole and
wear those for too long they can get really worn and sometimes get holes at the
toes, but this of course would happen to most shoes after a ton of wear. To me
it means that you just need to get a new pair.
My Top Picks
As an avid collector myself, I have come somewhat accustomed to the culture that the Vans name promotes. However in recent years the shoe has gone from being just straight up function to being both practical and stylist. Here are my favorites:

5)Vans Half Cab

Probaby the most durable shoe in the Vans lineup. These shoes can take a beating.....but they look better beaten up anyway.
