Your everyday carry or EDC are the items you carry with you in your pockets or in your bag on a daily basis.

They’re the things you check your pockets for before you head out the door, the things you feel naked without, and the things that would ruin your whole day if you had to do without them. They are especially valuable and vital for you to get through the day.

Constants in your carry should have certain qualities that follow a few different principles of the practice of everyday carry. The everyday carry philosophy is built upon the cornerstones of utility and preparedness. Each item in your EDC should serve a purpose or have at least one specific, useful function.

Typical EDC's nowadays comprise of the following:

1. Smartphone
2. Wallet
3. Keys/ Keychain
4. Watch
5. Knife
6. Swiss Army tool/ Multi tool

As a Deck Cadet on board, your EDC will most probably include:

1) Rags (clean or dirty)
2) Sponge and chipping needle
3) WD 40
4) Small Shifter (stolen from ER workshop)
5) Small notebook
6) Water finding paste

Some people may carry slightly different items, depending on their lifestyle and/or careers, but the principle is always the same, function and practicality over everything else.

An EDC can be simple

or it can be complicated

But as long as the items you carry serves the needs that you have, then its contents should't matter.
