Hiphop Tamizha (pronouced Tamila) is an Indian musical duo based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The duo consists of Adhithya " Adhi " Venkatapaty and R.Jeeva. Hiphop Tamizha are credited with being the pioneers of Tamil hip hop in India.
The group remained underground until the commercial success of their track, "Club le Mabbu le" in 2011. The international brand Remy Martin launched Hiphop Tamizha as an official brand after hearing the song. In 20125, Hiphop Tamizha released their debut album Hip Hop Tamizha, which is India's first Tamil hip hop album. It was a major successwith both the general public and critics. While the duo are primary independent musicians, they have also contributes to numerous works outside independent music, such as composing and performing music for films. They have also launched a clothing brand.
Adhi was born on 20 February 1990 and R.Jeeva was born 29 June 1991. Adhi's family is from Punjai Puliampatti in the Eeode District. He was born into a family with n knowledgr of music or cinema. His father works at Bharathiar University while his mother comes from an agricultural background. Adhi's first exposure to rap came from his neighbour showed him Micheal Jackson's Jam. His interest in hip hop music started developing in the tenth grade. He uploaded rap songs to the internet and got positive responces from people expressing intrest in his music, who also encouraged him to start to rapping in Tamil. His descion from to rap in Tamil rather than English was made, in his words, to avoud looking like a 'wannabe'. Adhi named poet Subramania Bharati, to avoid being caught by his parents. Adhi's father had initially opposed his choice to persue music professionally. He wanted Adhi to pursue higher studies, but gave him a year to do what he wanted, with the only constraint being that Adhi should not expect any help from him. After realising that Adhi was trying do some work good work,he encouraged his son's musical intrests. Adhi the moved to Chennai to try his luck.
Although Hiphop is a duo, Jeeva has selsom made public appearances. Adhi told IndiaGlitz that thisis due to his shyness and compared his parter to the unseen lion in the emblen of India, which includes four lions, with only three visible. Jeeva adopted the moniker Jeeva Beatz sometime after the two met in 2005.

Adhi and Jeeva met via Orkut in 2005. They were passionate about music and decided they shouls create an independent music group in India. According to the hindus and hiphop Tamizha's facebook page, Adhi had not officially found Hiphop Tamizha until 15 February 2010.
Around mid-2000's, Adhi released Viswaroobam Arambam, the first Tamil hiphop mixtape in India. It also played a major role in promoting hip hop as a part of Tamil Culture. Adhi and Jeeva remained undergrounf until they were asked by the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission to compose an election anthem. Hiphop Tamizha's single Ezhuvom Vaa was choosen as the offical anthen for Tamil Nadu's 2011 state election, and Adhi perfomed it at Pachaiyappa"s College. Now theyare famous within their India's citizen and now they are going worldwide.
