Onboard Experience

I have been onboard for over 13 months. I am sponsored by Bumi Armada. I have been onboard supply vessel and AHTS vessel. Throughout the 13 months I have met with a lot of people and a lot of qualities related to leadership.

                                        

The closest person whom I was to with onboard is my second officer. Second Faisal is his name. He was a perfectionist. He puts his mind and soul to the task given to him. He was also the leader of the medical team onboard during the drill. He always handles his team professionally. He delegates tasks among the group members.

 

The next person I will like to talk about is my chief officer, Chief Raj. During an event of fire onboard, he professionally handled the crew members to fight the fire. He was also very calm throughout the event. Planning the next move, choosing the right person to go in to fight the fire. During normal working hours, he always delegates task for the deck crew. He always carries out toolbox meeting in the morning before starting the day. But off hours, he was a very jovial person. He mingles around with the crew.

Lastly, I want to talk about my captain, Captain Viki. He was a very strict man during work. During operations he communicates with the bridge team effectively in carrying out the operation. Also during the event of fire, he smartly handled the management of my company and also the crew. He communicated professionally with the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) throughout the event of emergency.
