Not all shipping companies in this world will celebrate any festival when the seafarer are onboard during the festival. They may not have holiday but they will spent some times to make the festival as a happening during their onboard. During my sailing time as cadet, all festival will be celebrated. It was fun as all of us gather to arrange and prepare something.
Although there is a lot of work needed to be complete during the daytime but at night we will unite as all together to make the festival happening. Of course, watchkeeping and additional watchkeeping officer need to be sacrifice for the festival as we still need to keep the ship moving.
Eventhough we get the chance to celebrate the festival at the ship, we will not be able to celebrate as we do at home. We as seafarer must not give up anything easily as we need to be unite and stay together. Make things happen as we have the time to do it no matter where we are or who we are.
