VISIT TO DECK WORKSHOP AFTER ONE AND HALF YEAR.

Daily class from 8am to 5pm just enough to make you feel tired. We will be sitting in our class LA222 from morning until evening and have 1 or 2 hours break for lunch and prayer. However, some lecturer understood about this situation. For example, the lecturer always give us like 5minutes break to prevent the student getting sleepy or tired in the class especially on afternoon session after lunch time .On 29/01/2018 at 1400 hours, Captain Saggi entered the class.He is the one who teach us cargo work for this semester.He like to revise on what we have discussed on last class.Due to lack of feedback and answer from student regarding about Union Purchase and Derrick of General Cargo,he  asked us to go to Deck Workshop as there is a small derrick there.At first everyone feel lazy to go there as we need to walk from LA block and pass through the football field to arrive there.

There we have been briefed and tried out the derrick.Capt Saggi demonstrated on how the union purchase work.Some of our classmate volunteer themselves to be the operator.As we can tried out and visually see the union purchase and derrick ,we now  have a very clear understanding.For a tanker boy (sailing on crude oil tanker vessel ) it is hard to imagine about the things on general cargo ship.  A/B Dollah also was there. As an experience guy on General Cargo ship,he showed us on how the Derrick and union purchase worked.He also told us about some maintenance job related on general cargo ship.

One hour duration of class has finished.Yet, the outcome is very helpful.As we finished we took some photos with our A/B Dollah. Actually it is about one and half years ago when we met him for ACAS program on May 2016.The workshop is totally different from my time when i was a junior( one strip).Here are the photos of us with our trainer A/B Dollah.
